Residency #1: Leo Middea
With this very first residency program, New Amsterdam Jazz together with Olaiá brought Brazilian artists to the Netherlands to create together in person. After two weeks of composing, recording and rehearsing, Olaiá and Leo Middea took the stage together on the 26th of June, presenting the first artist residency at the Roode Bioscoop.
Leo Middea, born in Rio de Janeiro, began his musical career at the age of 18 with his first album "Dois" (2014) and he toured Argentina during the same period. Today with three more albums released: "A Dança do Mundo" (2016), "Vicentina" (2020), and "Beleza Isolar" (2020). He has already achieved more than 4 million streams on online platforms and has done more than 200 concerts throughout Europe and South America.
